Customer Training

Customer training taking place at Places for People's Annual Customer ConferenceCustomer training taking place at Places for People's Annual Customer Conference

Our Green Spaces activity has acted as a catalyst to provide training and employment opportunities.

In Hull, 4 local people have been working closely with our site services staff to undertake our Intermediate Labour Market (ILM) paid employment programme of practical horticultural training.

The training offered a fantastic opportunity to join our Site Services team and gain practical experience, horticultural training and support to move into full-time employment.

Two people on the course were Places for People customers who were unemployed but showed a real passion to get back into work. The programme provided training with a local horticultural company, as well as through our range of in-house training courses.

Additional support was provided on an individually tailored basis and included addressing levels of confidence, customer service skills, and interview techniques.

Training for customers

In addition to the ILM programme, we also actively provide training for our customers to help them get involved in their community.

We've had 68 referrals and 35 local customers participating in our ASDAN Community Volunteering Qualification, as well as providing AQA related horticultural training for 22 residents of our community food growing projects.
